Earwax, also known as cerumen, is produced inside your ears to keep them clean and free of germs. Earwax (or medically known as cerumen), is the yellowish/orange substance which naturally is produced from the glands inside the ear canal.
The amount of ear wax that the body produces differs from person to person, the amount that is retained within the ear also differs for each of us – these differences are for a number of reasons:
* Age
* Lifestyle
* Personal anatomy
* Genetics
* Ethnicity
* Diet
One of the biggest causes of ear wax blockages is when people attempt to self-clean their ears with a cotton bud for example, pushing the ear wax further into the ear causing it to compress against the eardrum, making the blockage worse. People who wear hearing aids all day and wear ear plugs at night over a sustained period stop the wax from naturally falling out, eventually causing a buildup.
A Build-up of earwax in your ear can cause:
Hearing loss, earache, tinnitus, itchiness in or around the ear, a spinning sensation, dizziness & ear infections.
Due to the current pandemic it’s our clinic’s policy that clients should wear a mask only during the treatment.
We have been working hard to introduce additional safety measures to ensure the welfare of our staff and patients at all times.
Our Practitioners will be wearing PPE so they will be wearing protective masks, gloves and aprons.
Please keep to your appointment time so we can minimize the number of people in our clinic.We have enhanced our cleaning schedule so areas you use will be sanitized between each patient. Where possible we ask you to make payments by card.
